£44 million rated destined for Manchester United as Tottenham ‘ready to sell’

Shock reports have claimed Tottenham are considering cashing in on Manchester United target
Toby Alderweireld this summer after talks stalled regarding a new contract for the defender.

Alderweireld is arguably one of the best in the Premier League, and had firmly established himself as Mauricio Pochettino’s number one Centre-half.

But the Belgian International is reportedly asking for his wage to be increased to £150,000 per week, but Tottenham are unwilling to play ball due to their strict wage structure, and are only offering £110,000-per-week.

And Italian website Calciomercato has claimed United are now ready to meet the £44 million valuation and beat off the likes of Chelsea and Juventus for a possible deal.

Spurs know that keeping hold of the defender is a must as he has helped the club reach the level it is currently playing at, but they cannot agree a new deal and are ready to cash in now rather than let him go for free next summer.

United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will be looking to add defensive reinforcements to his squad this summer, as the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof simply haven’t been good enough.

And with the possibility of a £200 million transfer kitty to play with, with more expected with the departures of a few players, Alderweireld could be just one of a number of world class players to arrive.
