Last summer Chelsea wanted to recruit another defensive midfielder after selling Nemanja Matic to Manchester United for £40m, but Conte failed to find a reliable replacement of the Serbian.
According to Don Balon, Italian mastermind is aiming at Real Madrid’s midfielder Casemiro and has already presented an offer to the Spanish side. The Brazil international is performing at the highest level. The 25-year-old is an integral part of Real Madrid side and was key to their Champions League triumph over Juventus last season.
Zinedine Zidan stated multiple times that Casemiro is a valuable asset to his squad and he’s not willing to part ways with the Brazilian. Illustrated by placing of a £176m release clause in his contract.
Chelsea eager to bring a player in who can adequately partner with N’Golo Kante. They are believed that 25-year-old Brazilian will be a perfect fit in the central midfield.
Past summer Antonio Conte signed Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco for £35m, but the France international hasn’t adapted with the club and English football just yet and has been in and out of the Blues side throughout the campaign.
